Roses are For Mothers Day

Make sure Mom feels like a queen this Mother’s Day. Skip the real flowers and treat her to a 50-minute signature Facial of Unconditional Love. This facial is “Rose bliss”. This rose infused facial is designed to hydrate the skin and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Relax, refresh and renew your mind and spirit with our European-style Rose facial. A deep pore cleansing softens and refreshes the skin, while a relaxing facial massage is performed using custom blended pure essential oils. Pure essential oils not only quiet the mind, but also nourishes and tones the skin. This is followed by warm steam to open your pores and later a restorative mask.

Clay Mint Mask

Mint has a cool refreshing aroma. Imagine how your skin might feel if it were smoothed and caressed with it.

Mint is also enjoyed in a hot cup of tea or a delicious slice of Grasshopper Cheesecake. However, most people do not think of mint as something that can improve your skin. Used as a cleansing treatment it reaches deep into the skin and helps dry up blackheads and remove impurities.

In skin care products, mint is used in creams, toners, body lotions and face masks. As a beauty treatment product, it’s often combined with other natural ingredients such as lavender, chamomile, jojoba and aloe vera.

Peptides and Collagen

Let’s just say that the two go hand in hand.

When our skin appears young, firm, taut and smooth this is Collagen at its best. Collagen is a structural protein found in the connective tissues of the body. It makes up 75% of the skin, it is crucial for the appearance of youthfulness; this naturally-occurring substance makes the skin strong, plump and smooth.

Peptides are also commonly called amino acids. These peptides make up the proteins in the skin. They become proteins when they form a long chain of amino acids. However, when peptides are in a short chain of amino acids, they have the ability to penetrate the upper layer of the skin and signal the cells telling them how to function.

Words for Parents of Teens with Acne

Parents sometimes overlook teen acne.  Parents don’t notice it because it tends to creep up on them.  Sometimes as parents, we tend to shrug it off as “Don’t all teens get pimples?”

Here at ResnikCenterfor Dermatology we see lots of teens with mild to severe acne and know that most are not only affected physically but emotionally as well. Even if your child doesn’t come right out and say it, chances are he or she is uncomfortable and embarrassed about his or her acne. For some teens, acne can have a huge impact on how they feel about themselves. Unfortunately it can begin to negatively impact their self-esteem. Teen Acne can make kids feel like they are all alone. The truth is, puberty and pimples go hand in hand and teenagers from every ethnic background, nationality, size and shape will probably experience acne during their teen years. In fact, 9 out of 10 teenagers suffer from acne. Our goal here is to help you and your teen deal with acne in a constructive way.
