Mint has a cool refreshing aroma. Imagine how your skin might feel if it were smoothed and caressed with it.
Mint is also enjoyed in a hot cup of tea or a delicious slice of Grasshopper Cheesecake. However, most people do not think of mint as something that can improve your skin. Used as a cleansing treatment it reaches deep into the skin and helps dry up blackheads and remove impurities.
In skin care products, mint is used in creams, toners, body lotions and face masks. As a beauty treatment product, it’s often combined with other natural ingredients such as lavender, chamomile, jojoba and aloe vera.
If you take a look at the labels on beauty products, you may notice the words Mentha piperita Latin name for peppermint or Mentha spicata which is spearmint. Although beauty products will most likely contain one of these two common types, there are more than 30 species in the mint family of plants.
Here at Resnik Dermatology, we use our clay mint mask to help clean and tighten pores while absorbing excess oils. This better prepares the skin to receive the benefits of our serums and moisturizers.
This wonderful mask is available in our office, offering a convenient solution to common skin care conditions for normal or problem skin. However, when you make a facial appointment during our March Special, you can receive a full sized complimentary Clay Mint Mask to take home.
