The June Bride and her SkinCare

Did you know gorgeous skin starts from the inside out? During the prep months I suggest upping your anti-aging antioxidants and vitamin C intake by adding beauty-boosting power foods like berries, grapes and citrus to your diet.

Drink, Drink, Drink…. Drinking plenty of water is one of the most important and best things you can do for your skin. To ensure your skin is glowing and your eyes sparkle on your big day, try to drink at least eight glasses of water each and every day by adding lemon to each glass or infusing with fruits and or mint makes it easier for you to drink.

So Do you or Don’t you Chemical Peel?  A chemical peel is a great way to dissolve dead skin cells and reveal brighter skin. It also helps erase fine lines and lighten dark blotches for a more even-toned complexion. Peels should be done during this time period of 2 to 3 months prior to your wedding since the procedure can cause redness and flaking as the skin rejuvenates.  Even a lighter peel should be tested several months in advance.  Once we are familiar with your results and recovery time, we can schedule another closer to your wedding date.

If your Wedding Day Beauty Countdown is going to include BOTOX® or Fillers make sure to schedule at least a full month ahead of time.  Doing this prevents any oopsies of bruising sticking around for wedding day and it can take a few weeks for the Botox to kick in on “Newbies”.  Also any fillers such as Juvederm®, Silicone, or Voluma® should be done at least 3 to 4 weeks ahead of time as well.

(Tip: Test run 6 to 8 months before your big day ensure that you are going to like your new look).

Last but Not Least Beauty Sleep!  There are hundreds of wedding details keeping our brides-to-be tossing and turning.  Brides need their Beauty Sleep, beauty experts suggest eating a healthy diet, cutting back on stimulants like caffeine and exercise before bedtime and, as impossible as it may sound, stop all wedding talk an hour before turning in for the night.

(Side Note: a sleepy brain appears to crave junk food while also lacking the impulse control to say no.  Sleep is like nutrition for the brain. Most people need between 7 and 9 hours each night. Get less than that, and your body will react in ways that lead even the most determined dieter straight to Mario’s Pizza).

Deep Zzzzzzs can come with unwanted puffiness and distortion from having slept on your face the night before your big event. Months earlier and from this point forward try to re-educate yourself to sleep on your back to avoid deep sleep wrinkles that can’t be fixed by Botox, fillers or other treatments.

Come Wedding Day when all eyes are on you, Dr. Resnik and I will make sure you look AMAZING!

Until Next Month
